The committee members from 2005 who stayed in office in 2006 were Shanti Poudyal and Frank Wallace along with special advisor, Murari Ojha. They were joined by three new executive committee members; Anup Srivastav, Ajay Dev and Gajendra Adhikari, who were elected by the members of NAFCA in October 2005. Although the new committee officially took office on January 1, 2006, the newly elected offices helped to organized a very successful Deusi Bhailo event in November 2005.

Rimal Family Home Burnt Down: NAFCA regrets to inform you that on December 7, 2006 one of our member's, Mr. Prem Rimal's home burnt down in Elk Grove, CA. Fortunately, none of his family members were hurt. However, his house was burned to the ground and they lost everything. The Executive Committee thanks all those NAFCA members and friends of NAFCA who came together to provide support to the Rimal Family at their time of needs. The Rimal family thanks you all for assisting them morally, physically, mentally, financially, and in any other way possible during these tough times. The Rimals are very appreciative of your support. See Rimal Family Thank You Letter.
 
NAFCA Celebrates Dashain 2006: NAFCA held Dashain 2006 Celebration on October 8 at Davis Veterans Center. There were traditional culture programs that had Nepali dances, songs, and poems by our local talented artists; sounds of DJ music; delicious nepali food, along with the gifts and raffle prizes were given for activities and children's game, and special recognition certificates were presented.
 
Deputy Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli visits Davis, CA: NAFCA was pleased to welcome Honorable Guest Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal on September 30, 2006. NAFCA presented Certification of Appreciation to Honorable DPM Oli for his strong commitment towards restoring the peace process and human rights for our beloved Nepal.
 
Musical Benefit Concert by Nepali Artists: Famous pop Nepali singers and musicians performed at NAFCA's Musical Benefit Concert on Saturday, July 22, 2006 in Davis. The concert was to benefit by giving the children of Nepal the life-long gift of education. The artists traveled all the way from Nepal, to entertain us and take us back in time, even if only for a short period, all the while helping us to support a noble charity, 'Room to Read Foundation' (http://www.roomtoread.org/). With all of your help, NAFCA was able to raise and donate $500.00.
 
NAFCA Participates on Picnic Day Parade: NAFCA was pleased to participate for the first time in the Davis 92nd Annual Picnic Day Parade on April 22, 2006. Coming from the land of the Himalayas, the Nepalese community in and around Davis, Woodland and Sacramento, CA are diverse mix of several ethno-Nepalese groups and the culture is well complimented by the traditional dresses worn by all the participants in the parade. NAFCA marched with their traditional Nepali costumes, standing tall and proud carrying both Nepali flags and U.S. flags and the NAFCA banner with an amazing display of colorful mountains in the background and the many arts of Nepal.
 
NAFCA Celebrates Nepali New Year 2063: NAFCA Celebrated Nepali New Year 2063 on April 8, 2006 at Davis Community Church. The program had many Nepali cultural dances/activities by our local talented artists and children, delicious nepali food catered by Kathmandu Kitchen, a well-known restaurant in Davis, prizes and special recognition certificates were presented.
 
NAFCA Website Officially Launched: The Executive Committee worked hard to launch our very own NAFCA website on March 6, 2006. Today, NAFCA's website has a global audience from the U.S., Nepal, Sweden, Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Norway, South Korea, New Zealand, Japan, Israel, Taiwan, European Union, Iran, India, Togo, Canada, France, Laos, Spain, Lithuania, Ireland, Qatar, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, China, Switzerland, and Czech Republic. A special thanks to Peggy Dev and Anil Dahal for their contribution in helping to build this website. The NAFCA Executive Committee welcomes your feedback, comments and suggestions by emailing to info@nafcaonline.org.
 
Deusi Bhailo Celebration of Oct/Nov 2005: During this event about two dozen dancers and singers went house to house presenting a very entertaining Nepali cultural program with dances and folk songs. The NAFCA executive committee is grateful to the participants and contributors and want to thank them for their generous support. A special thanks to Basu Dhakal for the songs & prose that were instrumental to the success of NAFCA's Deusi Bhailo Fundraising. NAFCA raised approximately $3,000 during this event.
