NAFCA is not owned by any one person, it is owned by the members. It is in your hand to preserve NAFCA and continue its growth in a positive direction.
The Executive Committee wishes to thank those of you who took time from your busy schedule to attend the Historical NAFCA Public Meeting held on December 2, 2007. During the public meeting Ajay Dev gave a presentation on NAFCA's Past, Present, and Future in which was outlined the need to add proposed amendments to NAFCA’s Bylaws due to the growth of NAFCA.
NAFCA has grown from 30-40 members in 1998 to 250-300 members in 2007. NAFCA is a US non-profit 501(c(3)) organization which is in very good standing today and has had positive publicity in several newspaper articles, larger audiences both in NAFCA's events and worldwide with the help of NAFCA's website. In its recent years NAFCA has organized more events, more fundraisers and donations to noble charities ever in its history.
Proposed NAFCA Bylaws 12 and 13 drafted by the Executive Committee were presented to public meeting attendees. NAFCA's present Exec. Committee as well as the newly elected Exec. Committee were present to answer questions from the attendees. The attendees participated in a question/answer period during the December 2nd public meeting and there were no objections to either the proposed Bylaws or Board of Directors. The Bylaws 12 and 13 has been finalized and approved and is now available on our NAFCA website by clicking here.
Those who were able to attend the meeting showed concerned about NAFCA's Future, concerned about our community, were interested in preserving Nepali culture and teaching the community about Nepal and Nepali culture. This was a great opportunity for all of us to express our concerns, comments, or questions. Thank you all for hearing us and giving us your feedbacks and suggestions.
The public meeting also had a presentation by Roger Adhikari about forming Nepali Community Center and the Nepali Communities around the country attempting to form a broad base coalition. NAFCA thanks Roger Adhikari and our friends from Bay-Area for making a long trip to Davis, CA and give us a very informative presentation. Please click here to see Roger's presentation.
