NAFCA New Executive Members, Board of Directors, and newly enacted Bylaws: Please welcome NAFCA's new Executive Committee Members: President - Mr. Uddhav Giri; Secretary - Mr. Vaskar Timsina; Treasurer - Mrs. Shanti Tamang; Mr. Basu Dhakal and Mr. Tanka Bhattarai; Special Advisor - Mr. Gajendra Adhikari. To read the message from NAFCA's President click here. With the beginning of the new year, NAFCA has now enacted Bylaws 12 and 13. Please also welcome NAFCA's Board of Directors (BOD), the first BOD consists of 9 members. |

January 26, 2008: Concert for Cyclone Victims of Bangladesh: Bangladesh's coastal area was devastated by a Category 4 cyclone in November, 2007 that struck with winds of 150mph and left more than 3,000 dead, 900 missing, and 40,000 injured. Crops were damaged on more than 2 million acres of land, more than 1.25 million livestock were killed. A human tragedy is unfolding in one of the poorest nation of the world as more than 8 million people were affected by this devastating cyclone. A charity multi-national concert organized by the Bangladeshis living in Sacramento and Agami, A US non profit 501 (c(3)) corporation will be held on January 26, 2008. |

January 15, 2008: Kids Poetry Competition - On the occasion of 1st Anniversary Vishwaparikrama fortnightly Nepali newspaper published from Washington DC announces the kids poetry competition. Poetry written by Nepali kids who are 15 and under years old living in USA and Canada are eligible to participate. The deadline is January 15, 2008. We realize this is a very late notice but this news came to our attention just one day ago. |

December 2, 2007: Nepali Community Center (NCC): Please see slides presented by Roger Adhikari during NAFCA Public Meeting on December 2, 2007 about forming Nepali Community Center and the Nepali Communities around the country attempting to form a broad base coalition. He spoke of the need for all the Nepalis in Northern California to have a community center and a strategy in which to achieve the goal of a community center. Roger was joined by several friends from the Bay-Area to answer questions from the audience. |

Nepali Dance Class: NAFCA member, Prajwal Bajracharya is planning to open a Nepali Dance Class in Davis, CA to preserve and promote the culture and tradition of Nepal. If you or your kids are interested to learn Nepali dance, please email Prajwal or call him at 530-220-2439.

NAFCA Fund Drive for the Flood Victim: Flooding across Nepal has affected more than 300,000 people, mostly in rural areas of the Terai along the southern border with India. Floods, landslides and disease have already killed hundreds of people and more counting everyday in the Himalayan kingdom. Hundreds of thousands of Nepali people have lost their properties and belongings during this monsoon season in Nepal and an epidemic is ready to outburst in our Motherland. The Executive Committee of NAFCA wants to extend thier Thank You to all those people who gave thier support and donated money for the flood victims of Nepal. With your help NAFCA was able to raise $751 to assist for the flood victim.
