Nepal observes the Bikram-Sambat (BS) calendar - a solar calendar started by King Bikramditya. The Nepalese New Year falls in mid-April. The New Year 2067 BS began on April 14, 2010. Nepalese people hope that the New Year will bring joy and happiness to their lives.

NAFCA celebrated Nepali New Year 2067 Bikram Sambat on April 18, 2010 at Davis Senior Center.

This year some well known singers such as, Anish Sapkota, Shyam Sundar Acharya, Amul Gurung, Nita Thoreson, Murari Bhattarai and many more performed. There were various folk and modern dances performed by our local talented artists. There were indoor activities/games followed by a delicious authentic Nepali dinner catered by Namaste Nepal Restaurant. The New Year's event ended with prizes for the indoor activities/games winners, and a raffle for some great prizes including a computer laptop.
